Decorating Christmas cookies is always a real treat, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Not even half-way through the month of October, there's still plenty of time to make the most of harvest season and embrace autumnal joy before roaring ahead to the winter holiday season. And if this trying year has taught us anything, it's that grounding ourselves in the little blessings of the present moment is the only way to make it through life's rough patches.

That's why we're leaning 110% into fall right now, from tablescapes to wreaths—and of course seasonally-themed cookies. And who better to lend us a helping hand than Waco's Wonder Woman and cookie baking guru, Joanna Gaines? Recently, we were excited to learn from the editors over at House Beautiful that Chip and Jo's Magnolia Market is currently selling a Fall Cookie Kit ($38.99; the cost of shipping is included), with items to decorate six buttery, fall-shaped shortbread cookies. The set comes with the cookies and three piping bags of the brand's signature buttercream icing in an autumn-inspired palette, and fall-colored sprinkles.

While it's sometimes nice to bake up a storm from scratch, we must admit we also love simply having our cookies ready to go so we can devote our full attention to the creative fun that is cookie decorating.

So before you launch into full Halloween mode, pause, savor some apple cider, marvel at the fall foliage (or Google some pretty images if your part of the country is yet to welcome the changing of the leaves), and decorate some cookies. Be sure to share photos of your final creations with us so we can delight in them, too.

On that note, we've got some cookie kit orders to place. And perhaps even a kit to send to a loved one as a sweet surprise, too.
