Gatlinburg's Ice Bumper Cars are Worth Planning a Trip Around
Now, we're adding one more standout attraction to our list: Ice bumper cars at Ober Gatlinburg. That's right: A mash-up activity combining the fun of ice sports with the thrill of bumper cars, you're definitely going to want to head to this amusement park and ski area to give these play cars a spin for yourself. The so-called "bumper boats" made their first appearance in spring of 2018 and have been a hit with visitors ever since. While seated in your own vehicle, use the controls to spin-and-bump around the ice to your heart's content.
Each 10-minute session—which consists of a short orientation and seven minutes on the ice— costs $8. The attraction is free for kids ages three and four with a paying adult. If you have a "premium wristband," one session on the ice bumper cars is also included with your admission to Ober Gatlinburg. This wristband (which costs $25 for adults and $22 for kids ages five-to-11) also includes a ride on the scenic chairlift, the wildlife encounter experience, one ice skating session, and access to Kiddie Land and the carousel. During the holiday period, the ice bumper cars offering is open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in order to keep the ice skating rink open to skaters the rest of the week.
