Couple Gets Engaged on Christmas Eve on Gatlinburg SkyBridge
Love is in the...altitude!
This winter, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge was transformed into tunnel of lights for the holidays and it couldn't be more beautiful.
So beautiful, in fact, that the Smoky Mountains attraction has become a popular backdrop for marriage proposals. The love story that's currently stealing our hearts? Sarah and Colbi, the adorable plaid-clad couple who got engaged on the twinkling bridge on Christmas Eve.
Below, check out a video of the couple talking about their engagement.
The recently opened SkyBridge—said to be the longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge in North America—is becoming quite the hot spot for proposals in Gatlinburg's Skylift Park. In fact, a spokesperson for the park told Southern Living that they are constantly receiving guest inquiries about the best spots on the bridge and at the top of the mountain to pop the question. The spokesperson also estimates that the park gets at least two-to-three proposals per week on top of the mountain. The company's social media accounts are getting regularly inundated with photos of couples getting engaged on the glass part of the bridge, standing on the gateway to the bridge, and perched on the scenic SkyDeck. Our prediction: This Gatlinburg site will soon become a top backdrop for otherworldly engagement photos.
If you really want to take your love for heights to the next level (pun intended), you can even purchase a SkyLift wedding package. Though they have a variety of offerings, $249 gets you two tickets on the Gatlinburg SkyLift, the ceremony, 10 photos, and more. (Arched Bridge / Gazebo and Galinburg Inn packages are also available.
