Little Palm Island Resort on Little Torch Key, Florida, will welcome guests for the first time following Hurricane Irma starting this Sunday, March 1st. Following the devastation of the hurricane in September 2017, the Florida Keys private island getaway underwent a complete re-imagination of its four-acre grounds. The decidedly upscale resort has been known to attract U.S. presidents and celebrities, and now features a total of 30 redesigned thatched-roof suites with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

“We’ve invested a lot of careful thought and attention to details in rebuilding Little Palm Island to retain elements loved by guests while ushering in sophisticated new design elements and amenities, said Kevin Geanides, the resort’s general manager, in a company press release. “We are also thrilled to welcome back 50 percent of our staff and many local vendors.”

Staying at the luxurious resort will cost you a pretty penny, with nightly rates from $1,500 (inclusive of welcome cocktails, motor yacht transfers to the island, nonalcoholic minibar beverages, Wi-Fi, and more). Once you're settled, follow the meandering crushed seashell paths—swoon—throughout the island as you marvel at beautiful and diverse birds, endangered Key deer, and perhaps even spying a green iguana or two before spotting dolphins enjoying their day close to the shore.
