Mom's Little Mermaid ‘Do Blows Daughter’s “Crazy Hair Day” Competition out of the Water
Look at this hair, isn't it neat?
One savvy Houston mom is getting a whole lot of love after photos of her creation for her four-year-old daughter's "crazy hair day" at school vent viral this week.
Determined to have her daughter Atlantis win the competition, April Castillo created an incredible likeness of Ariel from Disney's The Little Mermaid on the youngster's head.
Atlantis' big sister, Ariel Romero, who shared photos (below) of the incredible hairstyle on Twitter, told Buzzfeed that the whole thing took her mom about 25 minutes to complete. The 3D masterpiece features a plastic Ariel doll tucked into a "mermaid tail" of Atlantis' hair, which April put in a French braid and sprayed green.
"My mom picked the hairstyle," big sister Ariel told Buzzfeed. "She had seen people use a paper doll and wasn't really feeling it, so she went the extra mile and added a real-life doll."
By now, you've probably noticed that there's an under-the-sea theme happening with the names in this family.
"My parents have always had quite an obsession with 'Under the Sea', so my sisters and I have always loved mermaids," Ariel explained.

As for Atlantis? Ariel said she adored her nautical ‘do. "She loved it so much and didn't want to take it off. She even went to her gymnastics class with her hair like that," Ariel told Buzzfeed.
We can't wait to see what mom comes up with next year!
