Leave it to Lay's to come up with a way to transform our favorite foods into chips.

The chip giant recently announced the three finalists of its "Do Us A Flavor" contest, and one of them—inspired by a true southern classic—immediately caught our attention.

Millions of fans submitted flavors to this year's contest, and Crispy Taco, Everything Bagel With Cream Cheese, and last but certainly not least, Fried Green Tomato came out on top. But the question is, are they any good?

The idea to capture the flavors of fried green tomatoes in a chip was submitted by Gregory Pope of Charlotte, North Carolina. "Fried green tomatoes remind me of my childhood in Georgia," he wrote. "Fried to a golden brown, salted and peppered, they were always the perfect feel-good food prepped by my dad for our family dinners."

And so the mad scientists at Lay's got to work. Somehow, they did it! Chip-fans agree that the wavy snacks managed to capture the taste of homegrown fried green tomatoes—even down to the tangy rémoulade sauce!

We have to admit: Crispy Taco and Everything Bagel With Cream Cheese sound good too, but we'll always side with a Southern staple.

Snackers have until October 8 to decide on their favorite flavor. To vote visit or use the hashtags #SweepstakesEntry along with #VoteEverythingBagel, #VoteFriedGreenTomato, or #VoteCrispyTaco on Twitter or Instagram. The creator of the winning flavor will receive one million dollars.
