Photo: John Shearer/WireImage If you haven't had the chance to pick up Lauren Akins' recently released memoir, Live in Love: Growing Together Through Life's Changes, we promise it's the uplifting read we all need right now. When we caught up with the mother of three and wife to Thomas Rhett Akins just before the book debuted on August 18, she shared a bit more with us on why she decided to share her story in writing. She told our own Betsy Cribb, "Honestly, it kind of fell into my lap. It's not something that was on my bucket list, I will say that. But it was something that the people closest to me and around me felt strongly about... and I said, 'If the doors are going to keep opening, I'm going to keep walking through.'" But even after making the decision to share her story, fate continued to take the wheel. "Everything just blew up in the best way possible! It was a breeze, every bit of it. [Throughout the process,] I met almost no resistance at all, and to me, that was my sign that this book was meant to be." At the end of August, just a few weeks after the book was released, Akins was crowned a New York Times best-selling author. Now, she wants a chance to bond with some of her fans and drop in on their virtual book club meetings. As the author shared on social media last week, "I've loved seeing y'all reading Live In Love with your book clubs so much, I decided I want to join in on some of them!! text me your meeting links and "crash my book club" at 615-398-6369 and I'll surprise as many of you as I can!!" As a bonus, she's also creating a giant virtual meeting for all of those who text her with their meeting links, since she won't be able to attend all book club meetings.
