Baby Ada James is here and Mom and Dad couldn’t be happier.
Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins may be newcomers to the country music scene, but we’ve quickly fallen in love with the duo and their growing family. In May, the couple adopted Willa Gray from Uganda. “On the way to the airport, it was like Christmas Day,” the country star told PEOPLE in a previous interview.
Saturday night, the Rhett Akins family grew again. Lauren gave birth to baby girl, Ada James, after nearly 36 hours of labor! She shared the great news in an adorable instagram post. The family found out Lauren was pregnant with the baby girl in the process of adopting Willa Gray. Talk about an exciting time for these first-time parents!
Rhett shared the same photo on his Instagram with a message of adoration for his wife and for the hard work all moms do when bringing a baby into the world.
"Last night at 10:28 PM Ada James Akins was born and it was truly the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. I can't believe that we have two daughters!! My wife @laur_akins labored almost 36 hours. She is by far the strongest human being I have ever met and I have a new found respect for moms around the world," Rhett said.
