Louisiana is home to many exciting attractions like roman candy purveyors, zoos, historical homes, and, of course, so much good food to eat, but visitors may want to add one more spot to their list—the last Popeyes buffet in the world.

The Popeyes on West Pinhook Road in Lafayette, Louisiana puts out a spread of its famous fried chicken and all the fixings. According toHOT 107.9, the buffet is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, and includes both their spicy and mild fried chicken, red beans and rice, French fries, rice dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and of course their famous buttermilk biscuits. Hungry diners can eat all they want and wash it all down with a glass of sweet tea for just $9.70, which, as Delish notes, is cheaper than some of the chain's combo meals.

Popeyes used to have several buffets where diners could hand over a few dollars for an all-you-can-eat feast of chicken, red beans and rice, and buttermilk biscuits. Sadly, the outposts in Huntsville, Al., and Panama City, Fla., have closed, leaving the nation with only one Popeyes buffet left.

As news of the Popeyes buffet has spread, customers have gotten very excited about the idea of all-you-can-eat fried chicken. Some enterprising person even started an online petition to bring a Popeyes buffet to the buffet capital of the world—Las Vegas. If that petition gets enough signatures, perhaps some of Popeyes 2,000 other locations from Texas to Maryland, New York, China, and South Korea will start angling for their own buffets, too.

However, if there is going to be only one, it makes sense that the last Popeyes buffet standing would be in Lafayette. After all, the chain may be global now, but it has been serving up food to Louisianans for 40 years, and they deserve a little special treatment.

Hopefully the government will put the Popeyes buffet on the endangered species list soon, but until then it just means we all have a great excuse to drive over to Lafayette, Louisiana for a hearty meal.
