Ladies and gentlemen, have we got an experience for you!

The My Old Kentucky Dinner Train is a fine dining adventure that unfolds across the Kentucky countryside—and belongs on your bucket list.

During a two-and-a-half-hour ride that departs from charming little Bardstown, passengers are treated to a gourmet meal in a glamorous 1940s dinner car decked out with all the vintage bells and whistles. Be still our hearts!

The train’s menu, which changes with the seasons, includes a four-course dinner service ($84.95 for adults; $54.95 for children) as well as a three-course lunch ($69.95 for adults; $44.95 for children). We’re talking prime rib, pan-seared pork sirloin, apple dumplings, and more.

But it’s not just the food or the chance to dress up a little that keeps people coming back from more. The train ride also covers 23 beautiful miles of scenic terrain: through Bernheim Forest, over a wooden trestle bridge, and past the Four Roses and Jim Beam distilleries.

And then there’s the special excursions offered throughout the year. We’re particularly intrigued by the Murder Mystery Party Ride ($109.95 for adults; $69.95 per child), which pairs a four-course dinner with a live murder mystery show. The 21-plus Bourbon Excursions ($109.95 per person) features a four-course meal along with a bourbon tasting hosted by a master distiller. There’s also still time to surprise mama with Mother’s Day ride on May 12. Each mother receives a rose and a special dessert after the three-course lunch.

Tickets can be purchased at KYDinnerTrain.com or by calling (502) 348-7300.

All aboard, y’all!
