Krispy Kreme's Reese's Classic Doughnut Joins Permanent Menu

The "Greataste Reese's Doughnut of All Time" is a title that can now be proudly claimed by the Reese's Classic Doughnut. In July, Krispy Kreme brought back three of the greatest Reese's doughnuts from the last three years for a limited-time only through August 16—the Classic Reese's Doughnut, Reese's Outrageous Doughnut, and the Reese's Original Filled Chocolate Lovers Doughnut—and asked fans to share their greatest, most creative reviews of their favorite of the trio to help the company decide which would secure a spot on Krispy Kreme's permanent menu.

The Reese's Classic Doughnut is a peanut butter dream with Reese's Peanut Butter Kreme filling, a coating of Hershey's chocolate icing, garnishes of mini peanut butter chips, and a drizzle of Reese's chocolate and peanut butter sauce. The newest permanent menu item can be purchased at participating Krispy Kreme shops throughout the U.S.

On social media, the beloved Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based doughnut brand shared the happy news yesterday with a playful video. "#Doughnut fans have spoken," the post read. "@Reeses Classic is here to stay! Now available every day."

Many fans were excited with the announcement, quipping, "My favorite Reese's donut! It wasn't called classic for nothing! I'm super happy! Time to go celebrate with some!" and "I'm so happy!" Some, however, felt let down by the results, with several fans noting they preferred the Reese's Original Filled Chocolate Lovers Doughnut. One proponent of the Reese's Outrageous Doughnut also had some choice words to share, "Noooo! I'm in love with the Outrageous. I guess this is a blessing in disguise. My jeans couldn't handle you making the Outrageous permanent." We guess we'll take wins where we can get them these days.
