Krispy Kreme Is Debuting an Entirely New Store Experience in Concord, North Carolina Tomorrow
Next time you find yourself hungry for doughnuts in the Concord, North Carolina area, there's a new must-try in town from an old favorite: Krispy Kreme is opening a novel kind of shop experience in Concord tomorrow, July 23rd that fans are going to love.
The shop is the first of 45 new shops that will open around the country in 2020 featuring doughnut-infused ice cream — for either milkshakes or scoop sandwiches — and customizable Original Glazed doughnuts, along with visual and customer service enhancements.
"This new shop experience honors the heritage of Krispy Kreme while at the same time acknowledging and addressing the rising expectations of our customers," said Andy Skehan, President, North America, Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation in a company press release. "From our time-tested process of producing the world's most loved doughnuts to our new Original Glazed Doughnut infused ice cream, we're very excited for what the future holds."
Craving an ice cream sandwich? Shop customers can swap cookies for doughnuts bookending the Original Glazed doughnut-infused ice cream with a variety of toppings and drizzle flavors. Guests can choose from Vanilla Sprinkled, Triple Chocolate, Cookies & Kreme, Vanilla Chip, Chocolatey Caramel Coconut, and Vanilla Fruity Crunch.
Hand-spun milkshakes will also appear on the new menu — again featuring the doughnut-studded ice cream — and garnished with whipped cream and a mini Original Glazed doughnut. The milkshake lineup includes Vanilla Glazed, Double Chocolate, Salty Caramel, Classic Strawberry, and OREO Cookies & Kreme.

Hungry patrons will also have the chance to build their own doughnuts, choosing from five glazes, 10 toppings, and five drizzle flavors, available both in three-packs and also by the half-dozen. While in the store, you can expect "an enhanced doughnut theater experience, offering an end-to-end view of the doughnut making process" — as if you needed to whet your appetite further. To make shopping easier, there's also online ordering, delivery, in-shop self-service pickup, and more customer service improvements.
Store hours will be Sunday through Thursday, from 6:00am to 10:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 6:00am to 11:00pm. Well, we guess that summer North Carolina road trip just got even sweeter.
