What's better than fun? Fun and free.
For those who find themselves in Frankfort, Kentucky this summer, here's a stellar option that combines these two glorious features: The Kentucky State University River Thorobred Boat tour.
Created with KSU's Land Grant Program, "[The boat tour] is a research and educational vessel offering water education voyages along the Kentucky River to learners of all backgrounds. Our education programs show how land use affects water quality and how organisms in the waterways are indicators of water quality."
This summer, there's a lineup of free 90-minute cruises along the Kentucky River departing from the Riverview Park boat dock. In order to hop aboard, guests must make a reservation at least three days prior to their desired cruise. For dates, times, and to make a reservation check the Kentucky State University River Thorobred Boat's Facebook page here. You can read more FAQs and details about the trips on Kysu.edu.
