The Texas native wants to give back to her home state.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, countless Texas-based business owners are doing what they can to show the Lone Star State some extra love. Today, Austin-based Kendra Scott announced on Instagram that half of their online sales tomorrow, August 29th, will go to the American Red Cross. “Your support will help provide warm meals, shelter, and hope to families when they need it most,” the post states.
It’s no surprise that the line of effortlessly chic jewelry, home decor, beauty products, and gifts resonate with Southerners. “Southern style, specifically fashion in Texas, is often misinterpreted. It is hard to shake that iconic cowboy boots stereotype,” Kendra Scott told Southern Living in a previous interview. “While some may say that having distance from fashion meccas like New York City and L.A. is a disadvantage, there is actually more freedom in expressing your personal style. From classic and feminine to boho-casual and rocker chic—you see it all in the South.”
