Welcome to the new year, ahem, decade, where you're likely starting to already dream about your next vacation.

Well, travel booking giant KAYAK has launched their annual Travel Hacker Guide, and the top wallet-friendly trips have us particularly excited. Securing the coveted #1 spot? None other than Orlando, Florida. According to their data, three nights in a hotel in Orlando, Florida, plus airfare, is said to cost 47% less than the average getaway in North America. Median airfare from the U.S. to Orlando is cheapest in January and September, clocking in at $149 for the former and $156 for the latter. Hotels are cheapest in August, hovering at a median hotel rate of $157. Some of the best hotels to stay at that won't break the bank, according to KAYAK, are Castle Hotel Autograph Collection from $96 per night, Meliá Orlando Suite Hotel at Celebration from $71 per night, The Westin Lake Mary, Orlando North from $107 per night, and Bohemian Hotel Celebration, Autograph Collection from $158 per night.

Of course, many consider Orlando synonymous with Disney World, but as the KAYAK Travel Hacker Guide stresses, Orlando is also a wonderful vacation for those looking to get outdoors and spend time in nature. As the KAYAK experts recommend, "Head to the Wekiwa Springs State Park just minutes from downtown to hike, picnic and swim in 72-degree water year-round," just tote along your own water float. Meanwhile, three other superb Southern cities also made their top 10 list. Coming in at 4th place on KAYAK's list was Raleigh, North Carolina, followed by Dallas, Texas, in 5th place, and Tampa, Florida, in 6th place.
