Start counting those pennies y’all: an icon of sartorial sports history with a decidedly Southern slant is headed for the auction block.

A fur coat belonging to the one-and-only Joe Namath, the NFL Hall of Famer and University of Alabama legend whose flashy fashion sense and glamorous Hollywood lifestyle earned him the nickname “Broadway Joe,” is up for auction now through Leland's Sports Memorabilia and Cards.

The coat, made by Henig Furs and retailing for $8,000, was worn by Namath in the famous 2016 Iron Bowl broadcast of the Auburn-Alabama game. In a tribute to retiring Verne Lundquist, a gleeful Namath planted a kiss on the broadcasting legend who exclaimed, "My career is complete!"

Adding to its value, the coat is signed by Namath on the inside. The giant 7x7" message from Broadway Joe reads: "Stay Warm! Joe Namath. Roll Tide."
