George Bush, the former 41st president, celebrated his 93rd birthday at his family's compound in Kennebunkport, Maine yesterday. While the former Navy pilot spent his 75th, 80th, 85th, and 90th birthdays jumping out of airplanes, his health did not allow for the adventure this year. His chief of staff, Jean Becker, told CBS News that she "hid his parachute" to keep him on the ground this year.

Instead Bush spent the day celebrating with his family, including his wife Barbara, who turned 92 last week, and his great granddaughter, Poppy, who was named after Bush's childhood nickname. To mark the special occasion, Jenna Bush Hager posted a sweet photo of her nearly two-year old daughter sitting on the lap of her namesake, writing, "Happy birthday Gamps! Can't wait to celebrate."

Hager's dad, George W. Bush, also posted a nostalgic photo to celebrate his father's birthday.

While Hager told Today show audiences that Bush is happy "as long as he's close with people he loves", if you're looking for a present for the former president, the notorious broccoli hater, who banned the vegetable on Air Force One, according to the New York Times, is known for his love of his country, family, and colorful socks. In fact, former President Bill Clinton even brought Bush a pair when he visited his home in Texas earlier this year, according to Fox News, and the Republican National Committee sells "Official George H.W. Bush socks" for $19, emblazoned with an elephant and Bush's signature.
