Spending an extended period of time without seeing your loved ones has been one of the toughest ensuing realities the coronavirus crisis has created. Celebrities aren't immune to this difficulty, and on the TODAY show, co-host Jenna Bush Hager opened up about how sweet the reunion was with her parents, George W. Bush and Laura Bush, after such a long time apart.

"I got to have a little bit of time with my family last week. I got to see my parents for the first time in eight months," said Bush Hager on-air earlier this week to co-anchor Hoda Kotb. "We got [coronavirus] tests to go see 'em, but there they are holding their grandkids. And they'd only seen Hal maybe once. And Mila's now waking up at 5 in the morning...running down to be with her grammy and Jefe [the nickname Bush Hager Kids call their grandpa] and I just think even little moments of being with family."

Marveling at one of the two beautiful family photos Bush Hager shared, presumably from the family's home in Texas, Kotb exclaims, "Hal's grown up," to which Bush Hager jokes, "He turns one next week...and you know what, I can no longer use the excuse 'I just had a baby!' which I say to people, and they'll see the baby and be like 'he's a toddler.'"

Bush Hager also took to Instagram to share another photo of what appears to be from her time off in Texas, this time enjoying some adults-time in the pool enjoying tacos and the summer sun.

After eight months apart, we hope the Bush family had a marvelous and safe summer getaway together. Here's to hoping it's not another eight months until they can all reconvene.
