Watch Jenna Bush Hager Call Her Dad in the Middle of This 2007 Episode of Ellen
In 2007, long before she was a television personality in her own right, Jenna Bush Hager was still just one of two first daughters. Her father, President George W. Bush, was nearing his second term when she stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show that year. So we can understand why DeGeneres was tempted to find out exactly how easy it was for her to reach her dad in the Oval Office. When Hager said she could in fact, just call up the President on the phone, DeGeneres asked her to prove it. So she did, on television.
Hager and her Today co-host Hoda Kotb recently relived the incredible moment when Hager called her father out of the blue that day, and she admits that 10 years later, watching it still makes her sweaty.
"He's going to kill me!" Hager said in the vintage clip, cringing as she called her dad without any warning. "I'm going to be in so much trouble."
Surprisingly, the President seemed happy to receive the call. "How's my little girl doin'?" he asked DeGeneres.

A decade later, Hager revealed why the moment was—and still is—so stressful. "I was afraid I'd say, 'I'm on the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' and he'd say, 'Who? Who's Ellen DeGeneres?' or like, 'Where the hell are you?'"
Phew, we're sweating too!
