There are only so many soups and stews you can make for a cozy winter meal before you start to crave something else. The best way to get out of that dining rut may very well be Ina Garten's "Weeknight Bolognese."

"Nothing better than a big bowl of pasta on a cold winter night!! My Weeknight Bolognese is a Barefoot classic - a fast dinner after a busy day and SO satisfying," the Barefoot Contessa writes in a recent instagram post.

Indeed, the simple recipe for her Weeknight Bolognese is suitable for novice cooks. With a base of ground sirloin, savory flavor enhancers like garlic, dried oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, dry red wine, dry red wine, and crushed tomatoes enliven her version of the beloved sauce.

The bolognese gets finished with fresh basil, cream, some more wine, Parmesan and (surprise!) nutmeg. It may look impressive, but the whole dish should be ready for the table in under 30 minutes. Get the full recipe here.
