Sure, cakes are great and all. Cookies, we'll take 'em. Ice cream, load us up.  But cupcakes, oh, do we love cupcakes. This prized dessert makes our stomachs growl and our hearts sing. Whether we're picking up a box at the store, baking our own, or buying them from some of the South's best cupcake spots, we never tire of the sweet treats.

Especially if they are called CupCakes and come from the one-and-only Hostess brand. This year, the beloved company is bringing back Mint Chocolate CupCakes, as well as Strawberry CupCakes and you can get them now at grocery stores nationwide, through March 15th or while supplies last.  In addition to bringing back these seasonal favorites, Hostess is also debuting Iced Lemon CupCakes and Mermaid CupCakes (frosted yellow cake with creamy filling and mermaid-inspired decorations), both available through March 15th or while supplies last, as well. Multipacks of all of these CupCakes have a suggested retail price of $2.99.

On Instagram, Hostess took the announcement to the red carpet to share the news, captioning a photo of the package with, "Stylish and sleek, you’ll go crazy when you try a Mint Chocolate CupCake too."

With St. Patrick's Day about a month away on Tuesday, March 17th, now makes for an excellent time to stock up on these festive green Mint Chocolate CupCakes. (Okay, we might throw a few of the Mermaid CupCakes in our shopping carts, too). To round out the sweets table, perhaps we'll also bake up some of these St. Patrick's Day Desserts Better Than a Pot of Gold—and invite some friends over to share them all.
