These days, we may be chomping at the bit for spring blooms and warmer weather. But we'll take some exciting Hallmark Channel Christmas news whenever we can get it.

Last week, Hallmark Drama announced that the channel would debut a new original Christmas series this upcoming holiday season. The unscripted series, tentatively titled Project Christmas Joy: Alabama will chronicle the transformation of an Alabama town that may be in need of a boost after a natural disaster (such as a tornado or hurricane) into a winter wonderland. According to a company press release, the show will include an over-the-top tree lighting ceremony and a Main Street upgrade that will leave the town twinkling with holiday spirit.

"This show aligns perfectly with Hallmark Drama’s exclusive offering of original content,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Crown Media Family Networks in a statement. “We look forward to bringing Hallmark holiday joy to a special town in Alabama for the 2019 Christmas season.”
