Watch Gatlinburg's Incredible New Year's Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks

If you rang in the new year in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, boy are we jealous. Whether you welcomed the new decade perched high above downtown Gatlinburg at SkyLift Park or celebrated closer to the Gatlinburg Space Needle, the 32nd annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show was a giant hit.

Thankfully, for those not lucky enough to be in this Smoky Mountains oasis on Tuesday night, Visit Gatlinburg, the local convention and visitors bureau was kind enough to livestream the action on Facebook for us all to enjoy. The viewing party was hosted by the tourism board's public relations manager, Marci Claude, and magician and comedian Erik Dobell, and you can watch the 25-minute extravaganza below. In addition to the ball drop and the dazzling fireworks launched from the 400-foot-tall Gatlinburg Space Needle, the fireworks show featured music and rhythmic LED lights on the tower synchronized with the pyrotechnics. Attendees also were treated to live music from Journey tribute band, Departure.

"A tradition since 1987, this New Year's Eve celebration is one of the largest organized events in the nation," Mark Adams, CEO/President Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, said in a press release of the event. "We appreciate the big crowd to help us usher in 2020 in such a big way."

What a big way to usher in the new year, indeed—we can't wait to see what magic is in store for the 'Burg's New Year's Eve festivities next year.
