You know you have time on your hands…

Whether you’re one of the unprecedented number of Americans who recently adopted a furry friend, or you’re a longtime dog owner with more time on your hands, the coronavirus pandemic has plenty of pet parents looking for ways to address their pups’ behavior from the safety of home.

Fortunately, even with group classes and one-on-one sessions with professional trainers out of the question for the foreseeable future, there is still the internet. And, better yet, there are a number of dog training classes available online for free.

From YouTube channels to introductory courses from world-renowned veterinarians, Thrillist recently published a handy round-up of some of the most useful online resources for learning how to train your dog.

Wagfield Academy offers four, free e-learning courses with behavioral basics and training tips for dogs and humans of all ages and backgrounds.

YouTube aficionados will appreciate Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution, a wildly popular channel run by professional dog trainer Zak George. His fun videos will help you master everything from housebreaking a puppy to teaching leash manners to an 80-pound rescue dog.

For the behavioral-science approach, Dr. Ian Dunbar’s Dunbar Academy gets two paws up. As Thrillist points out, his free subscription collection includes eight free courses and comes with two books, Before You Get Your Puppy and After You Get Your Puppy.

Get some treats and get training, y'all!
