Remember that time parking your car at the beach during high season was a cinch? Yeah, neither do we. Which is why we're excited that Fort Myers Beach has launched a free tram to make sure tourists and locals alike spend less time doing the parking lot shuffle, and more time catching up on beach reads.

The tram will run on Estero Boulevard to and from Bowditch Point Park to the Matanzas Pass Preserve on Bay Road. Service runs daily from 6:20am (southbound), with the last northbound tram departing from Bay Road at 9:58pm. (See the full route and time table here.) The inaugural beach tram is running today and service will wrap for the season on Wednesday, April 11th.
