Home Town's Erin Napier Shares Laurel, Mississippi's Sweetest Christmas Tradition
It doesn't get more Southern than this.
There are so many reasons to fall in love with Laurel, Mississippi. Now, Erin Napier of HGTV's "Home Town" has given us one more: Pancake Day.
"If you order a copy of @goodgritmag from @laurelmercantile you can read all about Pancake Day: Laurel's sweetest annual tradition that we've all been doing for decades," Napier captioned a recent instagram post. "Everyone you've ever known your entire life comes to the old YWCO and gets in line together to have all you can eat pancakes and sausage before the Christmas parade starts. Every year, the photos are the same, we all just look a little older and wiser. This is how Christmas begins in our hometown." Beautifully capturing what makes living in a small town so special, the community Laurel has built up is nothing short of incredible. Perhaps Napier's hashtag addition of "#starshollowofthesouth" encompasses the sentiment best: What could beat the fuzzy feeling of tradition with the friends you make family?

With comments ranging from "The smell of pancakes when you walk in the door brings back memories of growing up in Laurel!" to "The way you write about this town makes me want to pack up my family and move," Napier's passion for the town clearly touches her fans, too. So, who's ready to bring the pancakes procession to their own hometown?
