If you thought the small town of Laurel, Mississippi couldn't outdo their sweet tradition of Pancake Day for Christmas for the Fourth of July, you'd be incorrect.

As Erin Napier recently revealed in an interview with House Beautiful, Laurel residents also take things to supreme heights for Independence Day celebrations. Well, Independence Day eve, rather, as the town hosts a special party on July 3rd for all of its residents and visitors to enjoy.

“There’s a citywide fireworks show in downtown Laurel, and everybody comes out and brings their lawn chairs,” she told House Beautiful. “There are food trucks and hot dog stands, and it’s like something out of a movie. It’s the most idyllic, incredible night.”

On the actual holiday, the Napiers will likely keep things relaxed: "We’ll probably go out to my parents’ house, where my dad will smoke ribs, we might cut up a watermelon, make some ice cream, and go swimming, if it all comes together,” Erin said in the article.
