Like Waco and Pawhuska, Laurel, Mississippi is on our short list of must-visit Southern locales inspired by our favorite television stars. Now, Erin Napier of HGTV's Home Town has whet our appetites even further to book an excursion down to the Magnolia State.

"This is going to be the perfect weekend to visit Laurel and get something special at our @laurelmercantile tent sale! And December 1 is going to be a HUGE weekend. Pancake Day! @themarketbeautiful is coming back! We are doing a book signing! Put these weekends on your calendar to see the best of our hometown," Napier captions a new Instagram post promoting the upcoming event at their store, Laurel Mercantile, this weekend and Pancake Day in December.

Not familiar with Pancake Day? The sweet annual feast is a Laurel tradition where neighbors all gather for pancakes before the Christmas Parade makes it way through town.
