Thinking of painting your kitchen a new color? Or even contemplating repainting your whole home? Does Erin Napier have the advice for you.

In a recent blog post the HGTV Home Town star helped break down how to select the best paint colors for your interiors. "The key to choosing colors that feel part of their surroundings, that feel aged and part of their environment rather than a brand new color that feels just a little day-glo, like a new pair of shoes that squeak a little when you step and are starting to rub a blister on your heel," [drumroll please] is... "Choose whatever color you like that has a bit of yellow in it to make the color feel integrated and truly part of its environment instead of too-new, too bright, not quite right, and out of place."

Napier tends to use neutral palettes of white and green (yes, she believes that green is neutral!) and include furnishings that stick to the paint's color family. For those looking for specific recommendations, Napier reveals her go-tos from Sherwin-Williams Dover White SW 6385 to Benjamin Moore Misty Air OC-44 in the article.
