Congratulations are in order for Emily Muniz and her family!

The 29-year-old Nashville-area woman got the surprise of a lifetime recently, when she learned that out of 123 million entries, she was selected as the winner of the HGTV Dream Home 2018.

The grand prize package is valued at more than $1.8 million, and includes the completely remodeled and fully furnished waterfront home in Gig Harbor, Washington, a new Honda Accord and $250,000 from Quicken Loans.

Muniz, who works as an executive producer at FOX 17 News in Nashville, is a self-described "HGTV home giveaway superfan," and has been playing the odds for years.

"My daughter is only three, so we try to limit what she watches on television," Muniz in a statement. "HGTV is one of the channels she's allowed to watch with me."

Muniz and her husband, Kevin, fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and its outdoor lifestyle after honeymooning there. Even though she knew the chances of winning were slim, it didn't stop her from submitting two entries to the contest each day with her email address and another two with Kevin's email address.

In the end, her persistence paid off.

With some help from her parents, the HGTV team staged a surprise ambush at her home. That day, after picking up some groceries on her way home from work, Muniz was shocked to find host Tiffany Brooks and the rest of the crew in her living room. "I had a gallon of milk in one hand and groceries in the other!" Muniz recalled.

Viewers can witness her reaction to the ambush and get a closer look at the home itself by tuning in to the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway Special on Friday, May 25 at 1 p.m. ET on HGTV.
