On Saturday August 25th, a sizeable chunk of Elvis Presley history will hit the auction block in California. GWS Auctions is hosting a "Legends: Iconic Film & Music Memorabilia Auction" in Los Angeles, featuring more than 150 other legendary items from pop culture history. In addition to a crystal glove worn by Michael Jackson and Lucille Ball’s personal ukulele, Elvis and Priscilla Presley's 1960 Delta Mobile Home, in all its gilded glory, will be available to the highest bidder.
“The mobile home was on Elvis' famous ‘Circle G Ranch’ near Graceland,” a press release explains. “Elvis bought the ranch in the 1960s as a getaway that would still be near Graceland.” The two-bedroom trailer was the couple’s personal retreat, and reportedly one of nine that surrounded the lake on the sprawling 163-acre property. The other eight were enjoyed by Presley’s close friends. According to GWS Auctions, when filming for the film Clambake was paused in April 1967, Elvis was able to spend three straight weeks in his trailer on the ranch, a time which many refer to as the happiest of his life. Some even say that Lisa Marie was likely conceived in this very trailer.
The 60' x 12' home recently underwent a beautiful restoration, restoring it to the condition in which Elvis and Priscilla left it. The mobile home will come with the original paperwork, including a notarized bill of sale dated 1967 which was signed by Elvis himself.
Bidding starts at $11,000, no blue suede shoes required. Scroll down for a little peak inside:
