5 Reasons Adults Should Plan a Disney Cruise
Great for a girlfriends getaway or a romantic adventure.
Looking for Disney cruise fun for adults? You're in good hands. You may think a Disney vacation on the sea may be all about the mouse ears and Dole Whip (for those craving that, you've got plenty of options), but grown-ups can actually enjoy an unforgettable voyage, too. Below are five tips for the 21+ crowd to have an amazing Disney cruise vacation.
1. Book an adults-only vacation with Adventures by Disney.
Disney's official guided vacation operator proves particularly appealing if you're looking to plan a girlfriends getaway or romantic jaunt on the high seas. The company has select adults-only river cruises for the Rhine, the Danube (pictured below), or the Seine. According to an Adventures by Disney media representative, in 2020, not only will the number of adult-only cruises offered each year double, but there will be a new itinerary, the Rhone River Cruise, with select adults-only departures.

2. Booking with Disney Cruise Line? Dine at these two spots.
If you're traveling with Disney Cruise Line, make grown-ups time special at Palo, which puts on a can't-miss champagne brunch on sea days and select port days. Then, be sure to indulge in a dinner at Remy — aboard the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream — for gourmet French fare and an extensive wine list (Remy also offers champagne brunches).
3. Hang out at the Quiet Cove Pool.
Adult travelers with Disney Cruise Line will enjoy swimming or relaxing in the whirlpool spas in this zenned-out sanctuary. On the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream, Satellite Sun Deck boasts Satellite Falls, a circular splash pool with benches and a lovely cascading rain curtain. Either grab a cocktail and a chaise lounge poolside, or head over to Cove Café for a snack and coffee.

4. Soak up your private island time sans youngsters at Serenity Bay.
On Disney Cruise Line's private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, Serenity Bay is a glorious retreat for adults, nearly a mile away from the main family beach. Be sure to grab a two-person hammock if you're with your better half or a group of lounge chairs for the ladies.
5. Book an Alaska Cruise with Disney Cruise Line.
Per a Disney Cruise Line media representative, the best itineraries with Disney Cruise Line for adults are Alaska Cruises. On these journeys, fill your days with highlights like Advanced Kayak Adventure, 5-Glacier Seaplane Exploration, and the Alaska Bear Adventure.
Another great choice for adults? Look into European cruises like the Disney Magic, which will return to Greece in summer 2020 as part of three special Mediterranean voyages departing from Rome. Additional new ports of call in Europe in 2020 will be Gdynia, Poland; Nordfjordeid, Norway; Plymouth, England; and Zeebrugge, Belgium.
O, vacation, where art thou? P.S. If seeking out the nearest Dole Whip vendor is your first mission aboard your cruise, we won't judge you. And just FYI, even without your kids, you can proudly sport your mouse ears the whole trip if you fancy.
