The South has once again gotten a wallop of winter weather. Snow and ice have blanketed much of the Southern U.S. in the last few days. And while many are home enjoying their snow days, some braver folks have ventured out and about—despite the warnings of meteorologists and law enforcement alike.

One such wanderer was none other than NASCAR living legend, Dale Earnhardt Jr. But even though he drives cars at 200mph plus for a living, Earnhardt still managed to fall victim to those slick roads. NASCAR's most popular driver collided with a tree this morning. First of all, he's fine, and he doesn't suspect there is even much damage to his car. But earlier today he took to Twitter with a warning to his fans and fellow North Carolina neighbors.

"NC stay off the roads today/tonight. 5 minutes after helping these folks I center punched a pine tree. All good. Probably just needs a new alignment," his post read.

We are glad the newly retired Earnhardt is OK, but with wife Amy expecting their first baby later this year, we think he should probably just take a page out of fellow driver Bubba Wallace's playbook and enjoy the snow day at home.

Earnhardt wasn't the only one to lose a battle on the road to this snow. The Charlotte Observer reported that more than 500 crashes were reported statewide by the state Highway Patrol before noon today. Stay safe and warm y'all.
