Yesterday, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store announced a limited-time fall menu that centers around their beloved biscuits. Through October 7, Cracker Barrel will offer a variety of new additions including three biscuit-centric standouts: Buttermilk Biscuit Beignets, Parmesan Crusted Biscuit Pot Pie, Biscuit French Toast.
The dishes are part of Cracker Barrel's "Tried and True Made New" initiative. "For almost 50 years, Cracker Barrel has been serving up our signature, made-from-scratch biscuits with simple, high-quality ingredients," said Cracker Barrel's Vice President of Culinary, Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer, in a company press release. "Our 'Tried and True Made New' recipes are where tradition meets innovation, and this unique take on one of our most beloved menu items offers guests new sweet and savory flavors to enjoy this fall."
The company —which makes more than 190 million biscuits from scratch a year — will also roll out new beverages, a Pumpkin Pie Latte, and Blood Orange and Black Cherry sodas from Blue Sky Beverage Company.
Craving something sweet? Buttermilk Biscuit Beignets should hit the spot, dusted with powdered sugar and served with a butter-pecan sauce. Or go for the Biscuit French Toast where Cracker Barrel's biscuits get French Toast-ified and served with sweet blackberry topping.
For a savory meal, the Parmesan Crusted Biscuit Pot Pie includes a buttermilk biscuit finished off with a griddled, crispy parmesan crust "atop slow-simmered chicken, peas, carrots, celery and onions, [and] all in a rich creamy sauce seasoned with hints of pepper and thyme."
