West Virginia Church Ignites in Flames, But Firefighters Find Bibles, Crosses Totally Unscathed
"Though odds were against us, God was not."
In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 3rd, a giant fire reduced a Grandview, West Virginia church to ashes. Miraculously, the bibles and crosses inside the structure survived the blaze, even though the building was completely destroyed
"On March 3 around 12:58am our department was dispatched to assist Beaver VFD with a structure fire at the Freedom Ministries Church, located in Grandview WV. Though odds were against us, God was not," a Facebook post from the Coal City Fire department that has since gone viral began.
"Picture this, a building so hot that at one point in time, firefighters had to back out. In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed!! Not a single firefighter was hurt!" The post, below, is accompanied by several photos of the bibles and an undamaged cross that the firefighters reportedly found.
According to Coal City Fire Department's Facebook page, the fire department is run entirely by volunteers from individuals in the Coal City area and surrounding towns.
