This Missouri Woman's Home Is Filled with 400 Christmas Trees—and Counting

When we say Shelly Botcher loves Christmas, we mean she realllllyyy loves Christmas. Especially the trees.

Botcher's home in Grandview, Missouri, currently boasts a staggering 400 Christmas trees—that's including statues.

"The great room has like 72 in it, and I ran out of trees because I have a lot more places to put trees," she told WDAF-TV.

The local station toured recently toured Botcher's home, which boasts trees of every size, shape, and color. Some trees are even upside down to leave room for more on the ground. One tree has 29 bulbs on it, one for each radiation treatment she's undergone.

"I have burgundy, cream, and white. I have my fruit motif, my reds and bronze, purple, black and silver, safari, pink, teal, seashells," Botcher explained. "So, it's sort of fun to see the new things that come out each year and add it to my collection."

That's right. Her collection is still growing.

"I never get rid of. I just add," she continued. "There's always room for one more."

Botcher admitted to WDAF-TV that her family doesn't share her love for the trees, but that hasn't got in the way of her doing what makes her happy. "To me, it can be just a stress reliever with the busy time of year," she said of her own personal forest. "Just looking at it—relaxation and (it) takes you away from your everyday life for just a minute to two."
