And if you love the refreshing soft drink, the Cheerwine Festival in its hometown of Salisbury, North Carolina, is one worth planning a trip around. After two years of Covid-related cancelations, the annual Cheerwine Festival is back. The popular festival is scheduled for May 21, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., with plenty of fun for fans of all ages. Originally founded in 1917 in Salisbury, Cheerwine has long been a Southern favorite, especially for residents of the Carolinas who can't get enough of the cherry-flavored taste. Whether you're a local or traveling from far, there will be lots to enjoy at this year's celebration including live music, local craft vendors, kid-friendly activities, and a smattering of Cheerwine-inspired food and drinks. Cheerwine "We first hosted the Cheerwine Festival in 2017 for our 100th anniversary, and now it's become an annual event to celebrate our tremendous fans and the City of Salisbury, and pay homage to the unique tastes, sights and sounds rooted in the Carolinas," Joy Ritchie Harper, vice president of marketing for Cheerwine and fifth-generation founding family member, said in a news release. "We're excited to welcome back our passionate fans who travel from across the South to celebrate with us against the backdrop of beautiful, historic downtown Salisbury."
