Southern Living's editorial guidelines Published on March 11, 2020 Share Tweet Pin Email Sometimes, when life gives you stressors (or a few extra vacation days) all you want to do is retreat to the woods and hang out in a tree house for a while. Who's with us on this front? Well, allow us to introduce you to the tree house of your dreams, located in Cassville, Missouri—a stone's throw away from Roaring River State Park—and listed on Airbnb for about $149 a night. We first heard about this embrace-your-inner-child abode from Wide Open Country, and we haven't stopped daydreaming since we laid our eyes on the enchanted structure. Consisting of a one-bedroom home and a separate Jacuzzi bath house, 2020 reservations are already completely booked but the owners are now taking listings for 2021. The home is built for two adult guests (no children under the age of eight) and there's also a grill/smoker for outdoor cooking, along with a kitchenette inside. Lest you be concerned for warmer weather stays, yes, there's air conditioning. For sleeping arrangements, there are two single beds and one sofa bed. As of mid-March, the property has an average of five stars, with 57 five-star reviews and counting. "Our visit was so stress-free. The attention to detail is amazing. Everything we experienced in the tree house was wonderful. Every nook and cranny has a treasure to discover. We highly recommend this tree house and the community surrounding it. We will definitely return," wrote one happy customer in December 2019. "This lived up to every five star review. We celebrated our anniversary and birthday here. It exceeded our expectations. Every detail was perfect. The warm Jacuzzi bath, the hot tea, the cozy blankets and candles. It was the perfect getaway. We will be back," wrote another satisfied guest in October 2019.
