It's September and the holiday season is already on our mind. Where will we go to take in dazzling Christmas lights displays? Where will we clink warm mugs of hot chocolate with loved ones? What destination is a Papa Noël-infused notch above the rest?

This December, head to Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, just outside of Myrtle Beach, and soak up the annual Nights of a Thousand Candlesnow in its 20th year. The annual display includes more than 2,700 hand-lit candles along with more than two million twinkling lights framing the many sculptures, trees, and flowers of the 9,127-acre gardens. Throughout your time wandering the winter wonderland, expect carolers and holiday music as you sip on hot cider or cocoa or a glass of wine to get you in the spirit.

The event will run Thursdays through Sundays from December 5th to December 21st, 2019. Admission costs $20 for adult members, $25 for adult non-members, and $12 per child member and $15 per child non-member. You can buy tickets here. Since space is limited, tickets must be purchased in advance.
