Brantley Gilbert's Tour Is Helping to Support Farmers and Veterans Across the Country

Brantley Gilbert's Fire't Up tour kicked off last week, and the country singer will be supporting an incredible cause along the way. For the tour, Gilbert has partnered with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC)—which works to help our nation's veterans find work in agriculture—to buy a selection of products (fruits, veggies, dairy, etc.) for the band and crew's meals on each concert stop, showcasing the importance of supporting local food in each community visited on the tour.

“I still live in the town where I grew up, and I know that excitement for a show doesn’t start when doors open, it has the power to rally the community well ahead of when we show up to load-in and soundcheck,” Gilbert said in a press release announcing the news. “Our goal is to help boost local economies, showcase the best foods from the region and spend a bit of time thanking these great folks for all they do.”

Gilbert and his team will work alongside the tour's caterers, Taste Event, to collaborate with farmers in 25 cities-and-counting on the road. In addition to supporting local agriculture, the farmers and their families who grow the food for the show will have the chance to dine backstage at the show, meet Gilbert, and attend the concert.

“We hear on a regular basis from our veteran members how farming has meaning beyond a livelihood,” Michael O’Gorman, founder and Executive Director of FVC, said in the same press release. “Brantley Gilbert’s historic support of veterans is what’s so great about this fit—the veterans are really looking for a purpose and a place when they exit the military, and agriculture offers them this purpose and opportunity, with both a physical and psychological benefit. And America’s farming community just happens to really need them.”

In addition to working with FVC, Gilbert's tour will collaborate with Musically Fed to donate excess food from each tour stop to local organizations fighting hunger. See the tour's promotional video featuring members of the FVC below.
