Opening on May 1st, Virginia Beach is about to get a one-of-a-kind dining experience: The Barnacle. The floating turquoise restaurant will serve guests from a home base of the Narrows on 64th Street on Thursdays through Sundays, 10:30am to sunset, weather permitting.

The so-called "food boat" will offer a menu almost entirely comprised of cone-shaped offerings such as taco cones and egg waffle cones, a sweet, Hong Kong-style snack, reports The Virginian Pilot. While the full menu hasn't been revealed yet, the establishment has dropped some hints on its Facebook page, including a drool-worthy description of a pizza cone. "Handcrafted garlic dough, stuffed with mozzarella and our homemade marinara then baked to perfection," a recent Facebook post reads.

Another reason to get excited for The Barnacle setting sail? The boat will also be available for private parties to spots like Bay Island. This Wednesday, April 25th, The Barnacle will offer folks a preview from noon to 5:00pm, when the boat is scheduled to be filmed for a new show about food boats for the Travel Channel and the Food Network.

“We’ve got 10 boats already confirmed,” co-owner Bo Zinno told the Pilot. “We’re trying to get as many people out there as we can. Anybody who wants to get on TV, come out on April 25.” See ya in Virginia Beach this summer — cone in hand.
