If you have plans to redecorate soon, take note. Home décor experts are looking towards the future, 2019 to be exact, and calling the next "color of the year." Of course, there are a lot of opinions so make sure you explore all of your options. Which one speaks to you?

As we previously reported, Sherwin Williams chose the earthyCavern Clay (SW 7701)and our very own Home & Garden editor, Zoe Gowen declared that Southern Living's color of the year for 2019is bright red.

But Benjamin Moore has gone a different direction. Their choice for 2019 is a cool, sophisticated shade of gray. Metropolitan (AF-690) is their choice to adorn our walls in the new year.

"Comforting, composed and effortlessly sophisticated, Metropolitan AF-690 exudes beauty and balance," said Ellen O'Neill, Benjamin Moore Director of Strategic Design Intelligence in a statement.

"It's a color in the neutral spectrum that references a contemplative state of mind and design. Not arresting nor aggressive, this understated yet glamorous gray creates a soothing, impactful common ground," she continued.

The statement goes on to describe the color as a blend of "heathered grays and soft linens" with "reflective metallic accents."

This particular hue is an elegant, modern twist on going neutral and will offer a calming effect to any space you choose. The folks at Benjamin Moore thinks it pairs well with a rich navy, but that's just one option.

We think it offers the perfect pallet for a pop of color, any color of the rainbow you choose, in the form of a statement chair or a pair of throw pillows. It's the color that really does go with anything.
