What's new for paint trends in 2020? A return to our ancient, earthy roots—at least if you ask Behr Paint.

For 2020, the paint company has crowned Back to Nature S340-4 the Color of the Year, and we love the subdued green shade.

"As we look ahead to a new decade, Back To Nature encourages us to reengage with the natural world, which we know can have a real, positive impact on our well-being," said Erika Woelfel, vice president of color and creative services at Behr, in a company press release. "Everyone has a different way of engaging with nature. Whether you're biking on a forest path, canoeing on a lake or walking on the beach, green is prevalent in nearly every outdoor landscape—it is easily nature's favorite color."

Whether you opt to use this hue in your bedroom or home office, the mellow color lends a calming effect to any space it inhabits serving as a versatile backdrop for diverse design and decor choices. In the same press release, Behr Paint notes that the yellow-based green is in fact subdued enough to even be considered a "new neutral."

You can buy Back to Nature exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide (from $21.98 a gallon).
