Prepare for chills.

The most powerful photo taken during the Atlanta Braves’ rainy Memorial Day matchup against the New York Mets has nothing to do with baseball. Instead, the photo that’s giving people chills across social media captures a patriotic act of kindness that took place in the stands.

The now-viral photograph posted on the Braves’ Twitter account shows an unnamed fan holding an umbrella over the head of a Junior ROTC cadet. The high-school-age cadet is standing at attention next to SunTrust Park's memorial, which is dedicated to all of the soldiers who were prisoners of war or missing in action. Noticing the young cadet standing proudly in the rain, the Braves fan got up from his seat to shield him from the downpour.

Even more powerful is the Braves’ single word caption for the photo, which simply reads, “Respect.”

The park’s memorial features an empty seat and a plaque that reads, “Since World War I, more than 92,000 American soldiers are unaccounted for. This unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of those brave men and women and to the sacrifices made in serving this country.”
