Now this is a Kodak moment. Just a few days after he entered the world before the eyes of 1.2 million viewers, April the giraffe’s handsome baby boy met his father for the first time.

A photographer was on hand to document the impossibly cute moment the yet-to-be-named calf came face to face with his dad, Oliver, through the wall of his mother’s pen Tuesday morning. A photo shared on April’s Twitter account (she is a celebrity after all), shows father and son pressing their noses together gently through the mesh panel that divides the parents’ living quarters. And yes, it’s just as cute as it sounds.

April first became an Internet sensation when she and her mate became pregnant 16 months ago. Animal Adventure Park began hosting a live stream as her due date approached, and thousands tuned in daily to watch her deliver. And as her date came and went, they kept coming back. Finally, after more than a year of waiting, April went into labor on April 15, 2017. Her calf, who weighed an impressive 129 lbs. and stood at 5’9” at birth, is happy, healthy, and blissfully unaware of his celebrity status.

Animal Adventure Park is hosting a contest to help name the (not so) little guy. You can submit suggestions at NameAprilsCalf.com until approximately April 25. Submissions cost $1 each with a minimum of five submissions. When voting is over, the zoo will share the top 10 selections and then voting will resume for five more days. Proceeds from the contest will go toward the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, Animal Adventure Park and Ava's Little Heroes.
