A number of rescue organizations are celebrating with discounts on the warm fuzzies you can't find in a store: the unconditional love of a pet. Looking for a furry sweetheart to call your own? Here are a few Southern shelters offering incentives to help their animals find their forever Valentines: Gwinnett County Animal Shelter, Lawrenceville, Georgia Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is throwing a pawty on Saturday, February 15—the perfect opportunity to find your sweetheart! The fun goes from 11am – 4pm, with vendors, gifts for new adopters, and a photo booth! And the best part? Adoption fees on all dogs and cats are just $2.14 each! Find out more information here. Humane Society of South Mississippi, Gulfport, Mississippi This Valentine's Day, the Humane Society of South Mississippi is asking you to open your heart to adopting a pet in need. In exchange, HSSM is offering $14 adoptions for "specially marked" pets today through Saturday, February 15th. Thirty days of free pet health insurance and a starter bag of pet food included! Asheville Humane Society, Asheville, North Carolina Asheville Humane Society is at capacity pulling out all the stops—and it's all in the name of love. Now through February 29, all animals age six months or older have $5 adoption fees. Brightstar Credit Union, A.K.A. Cupid, has arranged to pay half of the adoption fee for pets one year of age and older. Regular adoption fees for pets over a year are $125 for dogs and $30 for cats.
