Why The Word "Worry" Was Never In My Mom's Vocabulary
The answer may surprise you.
She has this ease about her. When she walks into a room, everyone takes a deep breath because they know things will be taken care of. To have a mom like mine is to have an angel in your life. She sees the best in people – even in their worst moments, and chooses to encourage them regardless of their faults or failures. Unconditional love comes easy to her. My mom doesn't sweat the small stuff, and she lives everyday knowing things have a way of working themselves out if you have a little faith.
It's not because she hasn't faced her fair share of struggles. My mom married young and had a baby not long after saying her vows. She had to learn to be a wife and mother all at once. My dad had a job that required constant travel, so she rarely had the support of her family or community. But, she never wavered. When our family got the news that my grandfather had cancer, my mom stepped up, and she gracefully helped him through battling the disease for 13 years. She taught me how to struggle well.

The most amazing thing is she never takes the credit. Her only prayer is that when people look at her they see the relentless love of Jesus shining through in every aspect of her life. I was raised by a Proverbs 31 woman, and for that I'm forever grateful.
I'm happier, stronger, and more in love with Jesus because of my mom. She's a humble leader, true champion, prophetic warrior, and selfless friend. All that I'm walking in now is the evidence of a mom that never had to try to put her family first; it came naturally. There's no doubt she was put on this earth to be a mom, and she makes this world brighter just by being a part of it.
