Tour Our Valdosta Showcase Home for a Good Cause

It's no secret that the members of our Custom Builder Program are some of the best home designers and builders in the country, and Todd Wilson is no exception. For over a decade, Todd and his team at Wilson Design & Construction have been a part of our program, constructing dream homes and bringing Southern architectural charm to the Valdosta, GA area.

Lucky for us, Todd and his talented colleagues recently finished building one of their gorgeous showcase homes, and from now until January 23rd it's open to the public for tours. This stunning home is one of our very own house plans, known as Whiteside Farm, and was designed by Todd himself. To sweeten the deal, proceeds from the tours go to a charity near and dear to our hearts, Operation Finally Home, which assists American veterans and their families in finding their perfect homes. Read on for a preview of the house before planning your visit to charming Valdosta and to Todd's impressive farmhouse-style abode.

Traditionally Southern with modern flair and functionality, Todd's home appeals to a wide variety of tastes. The dining room's classic oversized windows, provided by Integrity, serve as a base for just about any décor style imaginable. The dark cabinetry, painted with "Cityscape" (SW 7067) by Sherwin-Williams, contrasts the bright light let in by the windows, drawing the eye with clean lines while providing plenty of storage and space.

One of our favorite features of the home is the unique bifold door from Marvin, which allows for plenty of light and fresh air to flood the home during the warmer Southern months. Todd explains that the idea of the door is to "expand the living area, extending the living room to the rear porch," providing ample floor space for gathering.

If even more outdoor living space is what you crave, look no further than the home's poolside deck. The covered porch, complete with a cozy fireplace, is the perfect place to host friends and loved ones during just about any time of year. As an added bonus, the Belgard paving is weather-resistant, guaranteed to stand the test of time and remain fully functional.
