We all want our furniture to make a lasting impression—just not on our carpets.

If you've ever moved a piece of furniture from a spot it's held for an extended period of time, you know that more often than not, it will have left a mark on the carpet. The worst part is that no amount of rubbing or vacuuming can seems to help. But what if we told you there was an incredibly simple (and free) way to get rid of those pesky carpet dents? And better yet, that it's sitting in your freezer.

Our friends over at Today recently bubbled up one of our favorite housekeeping tricks that we just had to share. To get rid of carpet dents, simply stick an ice cube on the offending divot, wait for it to melt, and then soak up excess water afterward. Voila! Now you never have to be afraid to rearrange your furniture—as long as you keep a tray of ice cubes handy, that is.
