Is This Surprising Bed Mistake Responsible for Your Trouble Sleeping?

From mattress softness and room temperature to diet and exercise, there are a lot of things at play when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep. If you’ve pursued all the traditional routes and you’re still not sleeping well, your bed might be missing one crucial piece: a headboard.
According to feng shui, the ancient Chinese art of harmonizing physical spaces to improve personal energy, a proper headboard is essential to good sleep.
The reason is equal parts physical and emotional. As feng shui expert Bryce Kennedy explained to PureWow, "headboards are thought to hold and nurture energy at night, and to make you feel more secure and comfortable. Their presence visually establishes a safe space to let yourself become intimate and vulnerable.”
Laura Cerrano, a New York–based feng shui consultant, told MyDomaine that wooden bed frames and headboards are more conducive to sleep than metal ones.

“Metal frames and metal box springs can amplify and distort the earth's natural magnetic field,'" Cerrano explained. “Wooden materials are not a conductive element, so they can help reduce radio frequency signals from wireless appliances (your computer, cell phone, and television) from negatively penetrating your personal energy field.”
Seems like a pretty good excuse to upgrade your old bed, doesn’t it?
